10 Instant Coffee Recipes to get you through the Lockdown 

Missing your everyday ritual of chilling at cafes and relishing your coffee? We know it’s difficult to miss dressing up, going on coffee dates, and capturing the aesthetics to post on your Instagram. Well, we can’t promise you the exact experience but here are some quick & delicious enough recipes to satisfy all your caffeine cravings. From basic Iced Coffee to Chilled Nutella Coffee, Caramel Latte, these recipes will help you get your caffeine fix and make your lockdown a tiny bit easier.

1. Iced Coffee 

Iced Coffee is always a good idea. Taking your coffee cold is a growing trend amongst many millennials. Follow this quick, easy, budget-friendly recipe that tastes just like the gourmet coffeehouse, if not better!


Ready in: 5 minutes

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Instant Coffee
  • ½ cup of milk 
  • Water
  • 2-3 ice cubes 
  • Sugar - to taste

Directions

  • Add 2 tbsp coffee and sugar to two tall cups. 
  • Add about 2 tbsp of warm water and stir until coffee & sugar get dissolved. 
  • Add milk of your choice to the cups and stir well. 
  • Add ice cubes and serve it with a straw or drink it directly from the cups. 

2. Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona Coffee had to be on the list. It is officially the “Lockdown Coffee”. This coffee is also called frothy coffee, whipped coffee, and cloud coffee. It’s delicious, fluffy, and super creamy! 


Ready in: 6-7 minutes

Prep time: 5 minutes 

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Instant Coffee
  • Sugar - to tatse (you can also use coconut sugar)
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk of your choice
  • 1-2 Ice cubes

Directions

  • In a small mixing bowl or a coffee mug add Instant Coffee, sugar, and hot water. 
  • Using an electric mixer, hand mixer, whisk, or a spoon, whisk until it gets thick and creamy. 
  • To make the coffee more creamy use two ways of beating the coffee. First, whisk it clockwise and then use vertical zig-zag motions for 5 minutes. 
  • For a quicker option, add the coffee, hot water, and sugar to a mixer-grinder and blend till you get a thick creamy consistency.
  • Fill 3/4th of your mugs with cold milk and ice cubes. 
  • Add your frothy whipped coffee. 
  • Sprinkle coffee/ cocoa powder on the top. Stir, sip & enjoy! 

 3. Instant Coffee Iced Caramel Mocha

If you're a caramel connoisseur, you'll definitely love this Caramel Mocha recipe. 

Ready in: 6-7 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Instant Coffee 
  • 2 tbsp Caramel Syrup
  • Dark Chocolate sauce
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract 
  • Sugar -  to taste 
  • Milk
  • Whipped cream
  • 2-3 Ice cubes 
  • Water

Directions

  • Fill 2 glasses with 2-3 ice cubes.
  • In a separate glass mix the Instant Coffee in cold water instead of warm. It should dissolve within seconds.
  • Add Caramel Syrup or Caramel Sauce to the glasses (the sauce needs to be thick, so use more or less depending on its consistency). 
  • Add Vanilla extract & sugar. 
  • Add in the Instant Coffee and leave about ⅓ glass empty.
  • Fill the glasses with milk. 
  • Top it off with whipped cream and a sweet chocolate sauce drizzle. 

4. Nutella Hot Coffee

Frothy. Warm. Cozy. Nutellery. Creamy.

For when your sweet tooth cravings kick in. This recipe is super yum, chocolaty and all things good.

  • Sugar - to taste 
  • 2 tsp Nutella

Directions 

  • Add Instant Coffee powder, milk, sugar, and Nutella in a blender 
  • Blend well to make a thick frothy coffee 
  • Serve it in 2 coffee mugs and sprinkle some coffee powder on the top  

5. Cinnamon Coffee

With whipped cream and cinnamon powder drizzle, this cozy and flavorful coffee is super easy to make at home and will perk up even the sleepiest person.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Instant Coffee 
  • Sugar - to taste
  • ¾  cup milk 
  • ½ cup water 
  • ¼ tbsp cinnamon powder 

Directions

  • Mix the milk, sugar and water together in a pan and heat on a low flame.
  • As the mixture just starts to boil, add 2 tablespoon coffee powder and stir well. 
  • Bring to a boil and switch off the burner.
  • Add cinnamon powder, stir it well into the mixture, and pour into two small cups to serve.
  • You can drizzle a little more cinnamon powder on the top.

 6. Strawberry Whipped Coffee 

Strawberry Whipped Coffee is a fruity twist to regular coffee. It’s creamy, thick, and with blended, fresh strawberries. (This coffee can also be enjoyed hot)

Ingredients 

  • 5-6 strawberries
  • 1 tbsp Instant coffee powder 
  • Sugar - to taste
  • 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 tsp chocolate essence
  • 3-4 cashew nuts
  • 2 cup milk
  • 4-5 ice cubes 
  • 1 tbsp chocolate chips

  • Directions 

    • To make a Strawberry syrup; take a saucepan, add chopped pieces of strawberries pieces, 1 ½  tbsp sugar, water. 
    • Cook until everything mixes well
    • Now cool down the strawberry syrup and add it into a blender. 
    • Also, add 1/2 a scoop of vanilla ice cream and blend it and keep in the fridge for a few minutes
    • Now for coffee: take a blender, add 2 cups of milk, 1 tbsp choco chips, sugar, cashew nuts, 2 tbsp coffee powder, 1/2 tsp chocolate essence. 
    • Blend all these ingredients. And chill for few minutes
    • Now take two tall glasses. Add ice cubes, the strawberry syrup, and lastly pour your coffee in. 
    • Add remaining ice cream and strawberry pieces to the drink and sip it up.  

    7. Peanut Butter Mocha

    Peanut Butter Mocha is a creamy, dreamy blend of peanut butter, espresso, and milk.

    This recipe is decadent, yet easy enough to make.

    • 2 tbsp Peanut Butter
    • 2 1/2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder 
    • Sugar - to taste 
    • ½ cup of hot water
    • 1 cup of Milk 
    • 2 tbsp Instant coffee powder 

    Directions

    • In a blender add all the ingredients and mix until no lumps remain. 
    • Pour it in a glass and enjoy! 

    8. Coffee Mug Cake 

    If you are craving a bittersweet dessert that can be ready within minutes, this coffee mug cake is a perfect pick. 

    Ready in: 6-7 minutes

    Ingredients

    • 3 tbsp flour 
    • ⅛ tbsp baking powder
    • A pinch of baking soda 
    • 3 tbsp condensed milk 
    • 2 tbsp melted butter 
    • 2 tbsp milk + 2 tbsp instant coffee powder 

    Directions 

  • In a cup add 2 tbsp warm milk and 2 tbsp instant coffee powder and set aside.
    • Now, take a microwave-safe mug and add 2tbsp butter, 3 tbsp condensed milk, 4 tbsp ready coffee and stir well. 
    • Next, add 4 tbsp of flour, 1/8th tsp baking powder, a pinch of baking soda, and give it a nice stir to avoid lumps. 
    • Microwave for 2 minutes by taking a 1-minute interval in between. 
    • Serve warm.

    9. Cocoa Coffee

    • 2 cups of milk 
    • 2 tbsp coffee powder
    • 1 tbsp cocoa powder 
    • Sugar - to taste 

    Directions

    • In a saucepan, heat milk 
    • Take a mug, add sugar, coffee powder, cocoa powder, and hot milk 
    • Use a hand frother to blend till it gets thick & creamy
    • Drink it warm  

    10. Vanilla Almond Milk Latte

    Coffee is an essential wake-up recipe besides tea. Many vegans love the way the coffee smells but stay away from it since it usually has dairy milk in it. Well, how does a vegan coffee recipe sound? This coffee is totally vegan, made with almond milk, which is rich in essential proteins.

    • 2 cups of Almond milk or soy milk
    • 2 teaspoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
    • 2 tablespoon of Instant Coffee Powder

    • Turn the burner off and add Instant Coffee powder to the sweetened milk.
